It’s substantial enough to keep out the chill but light enough for layering in transitional seasons. It breathes better than most synthetic coats I’ve owned and doesn’t trap heat awkwardly the way some budget options do. Inside, the coat is lined with a soft satin material that glides smoothly over clothing and doesn’t cling. The stitching is immaculate—no loose threads, puckering, or missed seams. All buttons and hardware feel securely attached and built to last. The water-resistant finish holds up surprisingly well in drizzle and light rain. I’ve walked through misty mornings and one heavier shower, and while it’s not fully waterproof like a rain shell, it kept me dry enough to be satisfied. One minor complaint: the belt fabric could be slightly thicker. It has a tendency to fold or twist
